Top Ten Online Jobs to Become Fully Remote in 2023

Working remotely has become increasingly popular in recent years, and with the COVID-19 pandemic leading to a shift towards remote work for many people, it's likely that the trend towards working online and becoming fully remote will continue in 2023 and in the coming years.

If you dream of being able to work from the comfort of your own home (or a beach in Thailand, if that's more your style), you're in luck! More and more companies are allowing their employees to work remotely, but you can also become a full-time freelancer in whatever it is you love. If you need some inspiration, here are ten of the best online jobs to work remotely and become a digital nomad in 2023:

1. Virtual Assistant

As a virtual assistant, you'll be the behind-the-scenes superhero that keeps your clients' lives and businesses organized. From scheduling appointments and managing email to conducting research and organizing travel plans, virtual assistants do it all. And the best part? You can do all of this from the comfort of your own home (or a coffee shop, if you're feeling fancy).

You don’t need an incredible experience to become a virtual assistant as most of the tasks are very simple and can be done by anyone who wishes a quick swift in their career.

You offer your services directly via social media or email to:

  • Influencers

  • Bloggers

  • YouTubers

  • Entrepreneurs…

Or you can create a profile on high-traffic websites such as:

Many people are constantly looking for freelancers to help them with their business on these websites.

When you join these websites, it’s always a good idea to start offering your services for a low fee till you get a few reviews first. Then, you can increase your fees accordingly.

2. Freelance Writer

If you have a way with words and a passion for a particular subject, freelance writing might be the perfect job for you. Whether you're a wordsmith who loves crafting compelling copy, or a journalist who enjoys uncovering and sharing interesting stories, freelance writing offers the opportunity to write on a variety of topics, from business and finance to travel and lifestyle.

You can approach local magazines, local newspapers, and any blog you can imagine within a niche you would love writing about! Again, you can always decide if you want to approach directly or offer your services on the websites mentioned above.

3. Graphic Designer

Graphic design is a highly sought-after skill, and with the right tools and training, you can work as a graphic designer remotely. You'll create visual concepts, using computer software or by hand, to communicate ideas that inspire, inform, or captivate consumers. So whether you're a Photoshop pro or an Illustrator enthusiast, you can put your skills to work and create eye-catching designs from anywhere in the world.

If you’re not a high-skilled graphic designer, you can create professional graphics for any platform you could imagine very easily using my favourite platform to do so: CANVA

In Canva you have thousands of templates available for all sorts of documents, social media assets, websites, logos and much more. And the best of all is that it’s FREE! However, I highly recommend you to join the Canva Pro Subscription if you’re serious about it as you’ll have many more professional features available. You can try the Pro version for free first to have an idea of all its benefits.

I’ve been using Canva for so many years and this is the quickest and most professional way to create any assets even for your own business and its online promotion.

4. Online Tutor

If you have a background in education or a particular area of expertise, you can work as an online tutor and help students learn remotely. This can be a great job for those who enjoy working with students and have a passion for a particular subject. Plus, you'll get to share your knowledge and help students succeed, all from the comfort of your own home.

For example, I do offer one-to-one mentorships about photography and the creative industry. I LOVE doing it! I get to know many people around the world and help them with their creative businesses which I’m very passionate about.

5. Social Media Manager

With the increasing importance of social media for businesses, there is a high demand for social media managers who can help businesses establish and maintain a strong online presence. As a social media manager, you'll create and implement social media strategies, engage with followers, and measure the success of social media campaigns. So if you have a knack for creating engaging content and love the world of social media, this might be the perfect job for you.

Regardless of the job you decide to go for but especially if it’s in the creative industry, you MUST have a professional website. Nowadays they’re incredibly affordable and so easy to make as most of the platforms have hundreds of templates for you to use that are fully customisable.

You can try FREE my favourite platform and the one I use for years HERE.

6. YOUTUBEr / CONTENT CREATOR

Apart from being a professional photographer and a creative director, I’m also a full-time content creator on YouTube.

I can’t address enough how much I LOVE creating videos every week about the topics I’m most passionate about and sharing them with my audience.

If you’re very passionate about something in particular, just talk about it! Make tutorials, podcasts, behind-the-scenes videos, reviews… the possibilities are endless and YouTube is an incredible way to generate different sources of income.

If you need advice about how to start a YouTube Channel, and how to grow it quickly and monetise it in less than a year, I can help with it through the one-to-one mentorships I mentioned above. You can book it HERE.

Some of the many ways to monetise your own YouTube channel are Affiliate Marketing, AdSense Revenue, Brand Deals, and Digital Products. Just to name a few.

7. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Specialist

SEO specialists help businesses improve their search engine rankings, and this job can be done remotely. You'll conduct keyword research, analyze website traffic, and implement strategies to improve a website's search engine rankings. So if you have a knack for analyzing data and enjoy helping businesses succeed online, this might be the perfect job for you.

If you have no idea about SEO but you’re interested in learning, one of my favourite platforms to do so (and you can do it during its FREE TRIAL), is SKILLSHARE.

Here you have tons of creative courses and you can learn new monetisable skills in many industries you may love.

8. Online English Teacher

If you are a native English speaker, you’re able to work as an online English teacher, helping students learn English remotely. This is a great job for those who enjoy teaching and want to help students succeed, all while being able to work from anywhere in the world.

However, if you’re not a native English speaker YOU STILL CAN work as an online English teacher. There are many platforms that accept teachers without the need to be native speakers or have a professional degree.

Two of these platforms that I know work very well are:

9. Customer Service Representative

Many companies now offer customer service positions that can be done remotely. As a customer service representative, you'll interact with customers via phone, email, or chat, answering their questions and resolving their issues. So if you have excellent communication skills and a desire to help people, this might be the perfect job for you.

Every single online company offers online customer service, so the options are many! Just browse which companies you would like to work with and start sending emails offering your services.

10. Data Entry Clerk

Data entry clerks enter and verify data into databases, and this job can often be done remotely. You'll need strong typing skills and attention to detail to excel in this role. So if you're a fast and accurate typist with an eye for detail, this might be the perfect job for you.

IN SUMMARY

These are just a few of the many online jobs that allow you to work remotely. With the right skills and a strong work ethic, you can find a remote job that allows you to work from anywhere and enjoy the freedom and flexibility that comes with it. Happy job hunting!
